Who is the Northern Publishers' Fair for?

For too long, the publishing industry has been London-centric. In 2019, Isabelle Kenyon (Fly on the Wall Press) set up the Northern Publishers' Fair at the fabulous venue of Manchester Central Library. Each Spring, independent and trade publishers from the North of England gather to sell books, network with the future generation of publishers, and meet writers and readers.

With space for reading and coffee, the fair is the perfect place to grab a book that offers something different to mainstream bookshop offerings, and a fab place to get an idea of just what the North has to offer. We welcome families, students and readers to come be part of the fun.

On alternating years, we operate a performance edition of the fair, inviting publishers to showcase their latest authors and their work and we collaborate with partners around the city, such as Manchester Literature Festival to bring northern talent to a larger stage.
